Moeve, a multinational energy company, became a leader in the energy transition in 2022, divesting 70% of their oil and gas assets to invest in low carbon fuels like green hydrogen and sustainable aviation fuel. RMI CEO Jon Creyts will be in conversation with Moeve CEO Maarten Wetselaar to explore what it means to work through the messy middle of the energy transition.

The Waste Methane Assessment Platform, or WasteMAP, will be at COP 30 to share the latest updates on the WasteMAP platform and how it can be used to enhance work on mitigating waste methane. WasteMAP is equipping policy makers and waste managers with transparent data and the tools they need to determine what solutions would work best for their specific scenarios. This event will bring together practitioners to discuss the ways in which real users have utilized WasteMAP for planning purposes and to strengthen collective action on waste sector methane. 

RMI's Benjamin Bartle will join this webinar as a panelist to discuss RMI's work on securing catalytic climate capital and the need for decision makers at COP30 to prioritize early-stage project preparation.  

This side event is being organized by the Air Transport Action Group, the Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance (SABA) and the Pan-American Liquid Biofuels Coalition (CPBIO) as part of the Climate Champions team thematic agenda.  The event will highlight opportunities for developing nations and demonstrate the widespread implementation of the solutions across the sector to decarbonize aviation.

Organized by the Zero-Emission Shipping Mission, Green Hydrogen Catapult and the Global Ethical Finance Initiative, this event at COP 30 in Belém, Brazil, will showcase the potential of e-fuels as a scalable maritime decarbonization solution and enable collaborative problem solving by bringing together diverse actors to address implementation barriers through the highlighting of real-world solutions. This session convenes leading stakeholders from energy, shipping and finance to discuss financing solutions, enabling environments and what more remains to be done between industry and civil society to address the remaining barriers to implementation.
